American Ergonomics Corporation

The leader in dynamic seat technology. Licensing Counter Balanced Motion (CBM) seating solutions for automotive, aircraft and office.

Automotive

The CBM Seat offers comfort and safety in a variety of vehicles, including passengers cars, truck, and aircraft. Using the CBM seating solution as a restraint reduces loads on the lower body, as well as reducing head trajectory. The CBM Seat deploys by momentum to absorb deceleration forces on the lower body.

CBM Automotive Summary

Aircraft

The Counter Balanced Motion (CBM) Seat is a dynamic mechanism that provides passive, automatic adjustment of the seat, backrest and headrest. The CBM is designed to provide comfort by supporting the motion of the seated passenger. This system is user activated without motors.

Office

The dynamic seat design concept supports the many body posture changes performed during any seated task. The central goal is to provide seating support, motion, and body alignment. We offer several chair designs that feature our patented arcuate seating motion.

CBM Technology

Dynamic seating is the solution for increasing comfort and safety. This ergonomic concept allows the seat to follow the body’s motion. The optimal path of motion is an arcuate path that rotates around the body’s center of motion. When seated, the center of motion is proximate to the center of mass of the body. Dynamic seating incorporates both the seat and back motion to fully support the body. This technology applies to many seating applications. In the R&D stage now are the automobile seat technology with several designs in the finished prototype state and the airplane main cabin passenger seating design. American Ergonomics Corporation has been granted patents that protect its dynamic seat designs, body support system and the Counter Balanced Motion (CBM) vehicular seating invention.
